Becky Shasta Daisy - Leucanthemum
Becky Shasta Daisy is a showy perennial cultivar of bright white flowers with a bright yellow disk center. This upright grower is known to be hardy and doesn't flop from the weight of its prolific blooms, as others can. It's flowers tend to be longer-lasting as well. Blooming generally occurs throughout summer.
Easy to grow and drought tolerant once established, Becky is an excellent choice for borders, beds, rock gardens, and it is also nice for floral arrangements. Deadheading spent blooms can stimulate new ones. Leaving spent blooms will allow them to seed and spread.
Becky likes full sun and requires well-draining soil. You can prune this plant back to about three inches above ground during the winter to promote a burst of new spring growth. Just be sure to do so before spring. This lovely perennial generally grows to around 3' tall x 2' wide, and it is cold hardy to -20°F when protected against windchill.
