Rocky Knoll Farm

Heuchera ‘Melting Fire’

$26

Also known as Coral Bells, this lovely mounding perennial with deep maroon ruffled leaves provides great color character for rock gardens, beds, borders, floral arrangements, and container growing. Prolific blooms of small white flowers emerge in spring through summer, which really stand out against their deep crimson stems. Pruning spent bloom stems can stimulate new blooms.

This plant is easy to grow and it is disease and pest free. Bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies love this plant, and it is generally avoided by deer. Melting Fire does best in full to partial shade, but it can handle more sunny conditions if soil is kept moist. You will definitely want to plant these beauties in well-draining soil, and we recommend additional mulch when the ground freezes. Hardy to -25°F when protected from windchill.
